Brilliant breakdown of the process. I see it all the time in NYT headlines that trumpet right wing lies. Even when the article provides both sides the damage has already been deliberately done—in bold font.
As a veteran, let me add that they would almost certainly not let him go, even if he had been there. They don’t like trying to process people out while on deployment and send them back stateside individually.
They also don’t like when someone who was about to retire gets killed. It’s bad PR.
I think there’s another, more apt term here - “fragging,” as when one soldier deliberately hurts or kills his fellow soldier. As a veteran, that resonates much more strongly. Please consider using this more accurate message.
A subscriber for over 40 years, I had difficulty cancelling, and I’m still mourning the loss. One of the worst things about getting old is witnessing the passing of heroes, the guarantors of strength and truth that you grew up with.
Contact the slimeballs, or rather the NYT. I’m the mother of an Iraq War Vet and mother-in-law of a currently serving Army Major. Vance makes me sick, actively promoting a draft dodger during VietNam while ‘swiftboating’ a Command Sgt Major. What a weirdo!
I like your analysis of the choices reporters make. Times writers know few readers will read to paragraph 8. So the lie is likely to get traction when the real story is that someone is spreading a lie.
Contacting the NYT is worse than useless. They see making Dems mad as a positive. The Harris campaign is focusing on other information sources, as they should be.
Attack DJT’s FIVE bogus Vietnam deferments. “Suckers and Losers” is what he calls men who DIED in service to this country. Throw That in his face Constantly. Don’t answer the lies, Tell The Truth.

Not sure which is worse these days: Pravda on the Potomac, or Pravda on the Hudson.
✅ Contacted the NYT via the link. Thx for sharing it.
Me too
Done!

Vance is a jealous twat.
Just like a typical Republican REMF, to project onto others that which you are guilty. The rear echelon douchebag was never in a combat zone either.

Thanks for this. I just submitted a complaint to the NYT about their platforming lies…once again.

I canceled my NYT subscription on July 4th.
