I find it astonishing how little objectivity seems to be in news media these days.

The perception of balance and neutrality has taken over, and reality has been thrown aside. Now, news organizations are hesitant about making a factual, blunt statement about what's going on, out of fear that they'll be accused of bias and refused further access.

It's a horrible game, and the citizens who depend on the news to help them stay informed - which is the very foundation of a functioning democracy, an informed and active citizenry- are the ones who lose out.

It’s worse. Take a look at the NYT coverage of this story. It reads like it was written by the defense attorney, even quoting Kyle Rittenhouse, while misrepresenting the basic facts of the case. 4 quotes of right wingers and one quote cited from another publication from the victim’s family.

This country was founded with violence by men who owned people. They committed genocide to steal the land then fought a war to continue to own other people.
