My favorite line: “We would not have picked any of his choices for our hypothetical Cabinet.”

But hey! That is no reason not to endorse them.

Yes, WaPo's reason(s) for each endorsement was/were weak, at best. When they did set the bar for endorsing a Trump recommendation, it was so low it was a scraping the dirt. And dirt is whom Trump is picking for each position.

Trump: “Only the best people” Melania: “Be best”

I do not think they know what the word “best” really means.

Well said, 'Inigo'.

Wapo has been a terrible paper for a while. I can only assume that Jeffy wants more tax breaks. I have no idea why Bezos is trying to appeal to the "tinfoil hat" Republican crowd. They are not going to subscribe. My subscription expires this April, and I have no desire to give them any more money.

One more thing...I swear Wapo uses AI to write their articles. My 10 year old nephew writes better than the Post's current slate of "journalists". Stick with "The New Republic"!

Well, nice to know that the Washington Post is turning into the Dallas Morning News, and lower than that I can’t get.

I don’t know why they bothered to editorialize on these cabinet nominees. Does the Joker need endorsements for his henchmen? If you aren’t going to run editorials on presidential nominees, why run editorials on the cabinet?

I worried when Trump was running yet again for POTUS if the major newspapers would become like Hitler’s propaganda papers. Watching how WaPo, NYT, WSJ and LATimes were giving support to Trump while denigrating Biden or Kamala it was easy to read the writing on the wall. Now WaPo goes the extra mile FOR TRUMP to give a thumbs up to Trump’s candidates for his cabinet - by endorsing the most of his absurd candidates. But WaPo is all behind it while just a couple of months ago REFUSED to endorse Kamala. Yep, Trump OWNS Bezo, Zuckerberg, Rupert and so many other oligarchs. Look for worse propaganda to come

PLEASE, unsubscribe to these papers to put them out of business - better out of business than controlled by Trump to spread propaganda. We need to sign up for start up news groups like Bulwark, Contrarian, Guardian, Atlantic and the like if you want the truth, and to become an informed voter.

Last month, I canceled my subscription to the Post after many years. Since that time, I have been getting messages that they miss me and would like me to resubscribe. Initially, the offer was $20 off the regular $170 price. Each subsequent message lowered the price further until today, I was offered the opportunity to resubscribe for $40.

I was reminded of the MAD Magazine satire from many years ago in which a subscriber of some fictional publication was pressured with lower and lower offers, including receiving an all expenses paid vacation for his family if he would renew his subscription.

You know what? After reading about WaPo's latest debasement of itself, I would refuse an all expenses paid trip to paradise if I had to resubscribe to get it.

Typically a charitable organization is tax exempt and not supposed to engage in political activities or make political contribution. And yet -- Mr. Trump gave $$ from his "charity" to Pam Bondi's campaign. Seems like the watch dogs on this one were asleep.

Like they slept through most of the other grifts and scams he perpetrated.

I do not regret canceling my WaPo subscription and sending money here instead.

WaPo has turned into the the New York Post. Only maga's who can read will be its future subscribers. Not that Bezos cares. He, like all the other billionaires, just want more tax cuts and government contracts for their real businesses.

Will Lewis, who runs it now, was a Murdoch UK tabloid criminal.

WaPo is a major liability for Bezos. Amazon will get nothing as long as he owns WaPo. He will have to fix it or shut it down. Amazon is a huge government contractor--or was.

The endorsements by Post are a shameful efforts by Bezos to increase his wealth. Or is he a coward who worries about Trump taking his money away. This is unlikely, but Bezos should not bow to Trump, ever.

What a shameful dereliction of duty by what was once a great newspaper. The oligarchs are strangling truth and decency in order to make nice with Trumpleshitskin.
